I am providing the instructions from the professor, my response, and her feedback. Please use this to edit my post. Please do not reduce the size of my post but help me adhere to her suggestions to stay focused on rulemaking itself. INSTRUCTIONS: Based on the Frontline Episode and the NPR article, answer the following question and compare and contrast your answer with at least one other post. Respond to a peer’s post and explain why you think your argument contrasts with or is similar with theirs, and explain why. Question: Do you think the executive branch has too much power, about the right amount of power, or too little power to carry out laws through rulemaking? Given your own political views, perspectives on the Constitution, and/or or policy preferences, do you hope that the Supreme Court applies the non-delegation doctrine to the EPA. Why or why not? Before answering the above question, you should draft a response to the following questions below and then use your answers to craft your post. Who are the important actors influencing rule making in the EPA? How has federalism influenced rule making? Who has the most power to determine regulations? To what extent is rulemaking political? To what extent is it based on expertise? What are the advantages and disadvantages for the government and the public of using rule making to solve problems compared to using the legislative process? Do we have political accountability when policy is made through rulemaking rather than through legislation? Why or why not? What is the non-delegation doctrine and how would it change public policy and political accountability? Make sure you explain and provide evidence from the front-line episode and the news story. Your ability to explain and support your argument is very important as there is not one “right” answer to the prompt. FRONTLINE EPISODE:
