Chapter three is related to how goods, data, and orders are tracked through the supply chain. Of course, different industries use different ways to track data throughout the manufacturing and service sector- using one or more of the tools outlined in the reading.

1 For each of the areas below, identify how one of the tools discussed in the reading could improve implementation of data tracking, cost savings, and inventory accuracy of either raw materials, work-in-process, complete component assemblies, or finished goods both inside and outside of the firm. In the three elements noted, be sure to address improvements in at least two of the three types of technology discussed.

Identify any use of these tracking technologies in your workplace- be specific and explain not only how it is used, but what affect that technology has on your receipt of goods or materials and your shipment of goods and materials.
