Students will choose one of Erikson’s developmental stages that applies to adults and identify an example from television or movies, describe how the example fits the developmental stage, and whether or not the stage was successfully completed. Successful completion of the Case Study assignment is worth 20 points of the final grade. Erikson’s developmental stages are: Identity vs. Role Confusion Intimacy vs. Isolation Generativity vs. Stagnation Ego integrity vs. Despair See the sample Format to use for your Case study. Be sure to use APA style in your writing–but you do not need a title page, abstract, or running head. Be sure to cite your sources in a Reference List, and use Spell Check/Grammar Check before you submit your study. Points will be deducted if there is no Reference list and citations or for not using Spell Check/Grammar Check. See the Rubric for grading information. Format for Case Study Follow this format for your case study: Case Study Erikson Stage: (list the stage here) Description of Erikson’s Stage TV or Movie Scene that illustrates the stage: (list the TV show or movie title here, use proper APA citation) (Indent 5 spaces) In your first few paragraphs (however many you need) describe the scene from a TV show or movie that you are using as your example of the Erikson Stage you have chosen and which is listed at the top of your Case Study. After you have described the scene, then spend 1 or more paragraphs describing how this scene fits the Erikson Stage you have chosen. (What are the character’s goals, motives, issues? What is the conflict?) After you have described how the scene fits the Erikson Stage you have chosen, then conclude your Case Study with 1 or more paragraphs discussing whether or not the character(s) in the scene successfully completed the stage. Describe why they were successful or unsuccessful. Reference Include a reference page in APA style. Include at least one reference of the TV show or movie you are describing, but you may have other references.
