SUBJECT: Audience and Media As we all know that Elon Musk acquired Twitter a couple of weeks ago. There is a debate regarding why Elon planned to buy the company, if Elon should buy, and what impact the deal may be to the society, freedom speech… The final assignment will not focus on those directions, but media business model. Twitter as one of the early players on the social media sector globally, it has not been profitable past decade. One of the major reasons is its business model. You all will do the research and analyze by what you have studied and your own perspectiveon the aspects below. 1) A brief description of deal on what triggered Elon to buy. 2) To have research and analyze what is Twitter’s business model as a social media platform with Product and Price and Distribution (how to use the platform) theory 3) Identify and analyze that what business performances Twitter has had about past 5 years, which before (normal time) and during the pandemic such as revenues performance, where the major revenue streams came from, why they didn’t do good job on the business performances–revenue (analyze two major reasons) 4) What Elon plan to fix the issues to generate more revenues, besides the goal of prevent freedom speech. And what is your suggestion on Twitter’s model. This is an analysis paper, individual work. Please write a research-analysis essay, not a Q&A format. To the beginning of the paper, it should include a brief of the news. Each paper will be with maximum 3-4 pages, without including a reference page. The students are expected to do a thorough research on the topic and give your own analysis and viewpoints by the understanding of these two cases and the strategies. You are not allowed to directly copy from other writers’ analysis as the major parts of your work, but cited.
